Astronomy my old friend
I’ve recentlty started listening to Astronomy Cast, an amazing podcast about astronomy. It reminded me that space was my first remembered love! I was always fascinated with planets, asteroids and stars. One of my earliest dreams was to be the first person on Mars. “A facts-based journey through the Cosmos helping you undersstand not only what we know but how we know what we know” is it’s intro and it delivers. It’s hosted by Fraser Cain from Universe Today and Pamela Gay from Star Styder.
I only discovered this podcast about a week ago and I’m going through episodes at a rate of about 2/3 per day! And they have about 170! I’ve just about finished a mini series on our Solar System going through each of the planets including separate episodes on the Asteroid Belt, Jupiter and Saturn’s Moons and finally Pluto and it’s declassification as a planet. They speak about many divergant topics including The Big Bang, Dark Matter, Black Holes, Quantum Mechanics and the many different types of telescopes (radio, interferometry, xray etc.). The information is presented in a friendly and easily accessible way with jargon and technology explained.
So I if anyone out there has an interest in space and astronomy go check out Astronomy Cast! It’s super amazing!

Dale

yes, we remember your wondeful picture you drew at the age of seven of our solar system, all the moon rings the lot. We showed the school inspector who did not know what he was looking at! Dad enlightened him our “COMPLETE” solar system. Amazing, that you were and are!
